Once again, Grace Lutheran Church of West Springfield is helping the greater Western Massachusetts community by working to build a deserving family anew home in conjunction with Habitat for Humanity.
It’s not exactly a what you might think of as a local community, but it’s surely a part of God’s greater community and that’s all that matters. The project is located about 50 miles northwest of West Springfield at 133 Daniels Avenue in Pittsfield, Mass. Grace Lutheran Church has committed to work on the house on two dates this summer: August 2 for painting and landscaping and a second date in August for cabinets and more finish work.
Grace Lutheran is also part of a local Habitat for Humanity project taking place at 24 Cambridge St. in Springfield, in conjunction with Greater Springfield Habitat for Humanity, and sponsored by Thrivent Southwestern Massachusetts Chapter 31034. Our committment is largely financial, but some of us have been active on Saturday mornings, spending hours painting and plastering with other Lutherans from local churches.
We hope to raise $1,000 for this project through our upcoming rummage sale and two coffee hours, Sunday May 28 and Sunday June 15. Prayerfully consider this worthy project.
