Pastor Harman has announced that he will lead a group from Grace Lutheran Church West Springfield that will travel to the 32nd annual Kirchentag.
Taking place from May 24-29 2009 in Bremen, Germany, Kirchentag is a celebration and lay movement rejoicing in the Christian faith and featuring conferences, events and performances.
Those who are interested in joining the group traveling to Bremen this year — or simply want to learn more about the trip (no commitment required) — are invited to attend a special information session at Grace Lutheran Church West Springfield taking place Sunday, Feb. 8 at 11:00 a.m. (following worship). Come and discuss, learn and inquire about the amazing possibilities involved in this adventure!

The next book discussion at Grace Lutheran Church West Springfield will take place Sunday, Jan. 25, 2009, following the 9:30 a.m. worship service (discussion starting at approximately 10:30 a.m.).
The featured book is “Gilead” by author Marilynne Robinson. Gilead is a 2004 National Book Critics Circle winner and a 2005 Pulitzer Prize winner for fiction. Discussion questions are available here. All are welcome to attend the discussion.

The effort raised nearly $1,200 for the West Springfield Parish Cupboard, an organization dedicated to feeding the hungry in the greater West Springfield area.
