Join ‘Operation Sonshine’ in March

Grace Lutheran Church West Springfield will once again participate in Operation Sonshine March 20, 2010, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The effort involved delivering and serving meals to the hungry at the Springfield Rescue Mission.

Family fun night: March 19

The council of Grace Lutheran Church West Springfield will hold a family fun night Friday, March 19, 2010, from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. The event will feature fun and activities for everyone at every age: if you’re a family of 1 or 21, ages 0 to 100, all are invited.

Featured activities will include ping pong, fussball (table football), Wii, crafts, movies, board games, cards, or if you have a favorite game, please bring it! Hot dogs, chips and drinks will be available for sale for a nominal fee (enjoy a night off from making supper!).

Worship assistant training this Sunday

Grace Lutheran Church West Springfield’s Sunday worship services are welcome to all, but it couldn’t happen without the dedicated help of Grace’s worship assistants: readers, communion assistants and children’s chat leaders.

If you’d like to sign up to be a worship assistant on a rotating basis, or you’re simply interested in learning more about the process, please attend a special worship assistant training Sunday, Mar. 7, immediately following worship.

Grace Lutheran Church West Springfield will continue to hold its year-long women’s bible study program during March. The group meets Tuesday’s from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the church, each week discussing a different female character from the bible.

Here’s this month’s topics:
March 2: Tamra
March 9: Potiphar’s wife
March 16: The mothers of Moses, Jochebed and Pharaoh’s daughter
March 23: Miriam
March 30: Rahab
