Join Bishop Margaret Payne for a discussion about Paul tonight in Springfield

Join ELCA New England Synod Bishop Margaret G. Payne for a discussion on Paul, “Three Bishops and the Apostle Paul,” tonight, Monday, June 29, 2009, at St. Michael’s Cathedral, 260 State St., Sprngfield, Mass., sponsored by the Ecumenical Center for Pauline Studies.

Bishop Payne’s presentation is titled “Paul’s Barrier-Shattering God.”

Also speaking will be Bishop Gordon Scruton of the Episcopal Diocese of Western Massachusetts and Bishop Timothy McDonnell of the Roman catholic Diocese of Springfield.

In preparation, suggested reading is the article, “Reflections on Paul at 2,000,” written by Dr. Karl P. Donfried in the June issue of “The Lutheran,” the monthly magazine of the ELCA (registration required). Donfried, an ELCA pastor, is professor emeritus at Smith College, Northampton, Mass.
