Interested in becoming a Lutheran lay minister? The School of Lay Ministry, sponsored by the Evangelical Lutheran Church In America (ELCA) New England Synod, is designed “to educate and equip lay people for enhanced participation in congregational and synodical life through personal spiritual development, bible enhancement and life-long learning.”
The school celebrated its first graduation class of 19 at the New England Synod Assembly May 28. The two-year program begins the 2009-2010 academic year with a retreat weekend Sept. 25-27 at Calumet Lutheran Camp and Conference Center in West Ossipee, N.H.
