A special Christmas message from Mt. Kilimanjaro

Grace Lutheran Church West Springfield is pleased to share a special message from Travis and Gretta Schwamb, members of our congregation who are celebrating Christmas from Mt. Kilimanjaro as part of their effort to raise money for orphans in Africa.

I hope everyone is doing well and is enjoying the holiday season. I’m sad to be missing out in person this year, but Travis and I will be having a different type of ‘White Christmas’ this year hiking Kilimanjaro. In our quest to summit Africa’s highest peak, we would like to extend the invitation for you to support an incredible grassroots organization that we have been working with in Kenya. We are going to be ascending 19,341 ft and are hoping to raise $0.50/ft climbed … an ultimate target of $9,670… in other words, an amount that could feed this entire orphanage for a year.

Merry Christmas from Africa, thank you for your support and we’ll be thinking of you on the mountain!
