Just warming up: Fundraising drive for new heating system

Grace Lutheran Church West Springfield is pleased to announce that a new boiler and water heater have been ordered and will be installed during October. The entire project should take about two weeks to complete.

With the project nearing fruition, the bills will start coming in. The total cost for the project will be right around $50,000. We can’t make it happen without the support of the members and friends of Grace. We ask for your prayerful donations to our heating system replacement fundraiser. We know this is a costly project, so our fundraiser slogan – “On A Wing And A Prayer” – will hopefully be helpful in deciding what you can contribute to this cause (no amount is too small ).

Please send your contributions to:
Grace Lutheran Church
1552 Westfield Street
West Springfield, MA 01089
Attn: Heating system

There will be a board in Jung Hall showing our progress toward our ultimate goal. We are taking this big step to make our building more energy efficient and a more comfortable place to come and worship.

The graduates were Karen Blanchard, Carol Goulet and Ryan Lynch. The special graduation event and ceremony took place at the annual New England Synod Assembly of the ELCA, held at the Mass Mutual Center in Springfield June 3rd – June 5th.

The School of Lay Ministry is an innovative program designed to give adult students an opportunity to grow in their faith for the purpose of personal spiritual development, biblical enrichment and life-long learning. This program seeks to assist those who have a desire to broaden their faith understanding and expand their skills for service in their local congregation. The first year of the two-year program included studies of the Old and New Testaments, and the second year of studies focused on theology, Lutheran Confessional Heritage and the American Religious Experience. The School of Lay Ministry, which is in it’s third year, had 33 graduates this year, the largest class ever.

Congratulations to Ryan, Carol and Karen, and all of this year’s graduates. Click here to learn more about the New England Synod School of Lay Ministry.
