Webmaster’s update: November 2014

Please note a few website features that had been down for repair are now working again, including:

  • In the “Embrace Grace” section that appears on the left-hand side of all pages, you can once again click the “get website posts via email link” and you’ll get any new posts to the website via email (they arrive around 3:00 p.m. ET on each day a new posts appears).
  • Kevin now uses MailChimp for the weekly email newsletter (separate from the website updates emails). We’ll have an updated link there soon so you can subscribe automatically, but in the meantime if you’d like to sign up, email the webmaster.
  • The ELCA news feed is working again, as is the link to the New England Synod calendar page. Be sure to check those regularly (as well as Bishop Hazelwood’s blog) to stay up to date with ELCA happenings at the regional and national level.

Let me know if you’d like to see any additional features!

News: New website features and updates

Spring is a time for change and renewal, and in celebration of the arrival of spring, we have introduced several exciting changes here at GraceLutheranOnline.com:

  • We have introduced a new website design template. Our fresh look features a larger banner image, a reorganized left-hand sidebar with many useful links and news feeds, and more white space to enhance the site’s overall readability.
  • We are excited to roll out a new online calendar. Embedded right into our site, the calendar serves as the new master calendar for the church, listing all upcoming events in a convenient format that’s accessible to anyone via the Web.
  • We also updated several pages on our site, including our About Us page, which now features our mission statement and guiding values, and our Directions to Grace Lutheran Church page, which features a fresh new interactive map (provided by Google) to make it easier to find your way to our church.

We hope you enjoy these changes, and look for more in the near future. As always feedback can be directed to webmaster@gracelutheranonline.com. God bless!

Phone issues

Please note that we are currently experiencing technical difficulties with the telephone system at Grace Lutheran Church West Springfield. Until phone service is restored, please contact the church office via email at contact@gracelutheranonline.com. Pastor Harman may be contacted directly via pastorharman@gracelutheranonline.com.

Thank you for your understanding.

Feedburner service interruption

Due to Google’s acquisition of Feedburner, our email update service was temporarily out of order. I believe the problem has now been fixed and the email update should go out as usual on Wednesday afternoon.

If you have problems with the service, feel free to email webmaster@gracelutheranonline.com.
