Want to go on a Carribbean Cruise and don’t have the money or the time?  Just come to Grace Lutheran Church West Springfield for the 9:30 a.m. worship service on Sunday March 2, 2014.  Our talented musicians will celebrate with tropical themes and music on this Sunday before Lent begins.  Don your best cruise wear and, if you feel so inclined, bake something with pineapple or coconut or other tropical specialties (chocolate?).  Coffee hour will feature a tropical punch….Aloha!

Tropical Sunday worship Feb. 10, 2013

Palm Tree Leaning over BeachGrace Lutheran Church West Springfield will hold its annual Tropical Sunday worship service this Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013, at 9:30 a.m.

In true Mardi Gras style, the sanctuary will be transformed for the day into an island paradise. The congregation and guests are encouraged to dress in “cruise wear,” bring baked goods using tropical fruits, and come ready to sing hymns with African and Latin rhythms gleaned from tropical traditions. When it’s cold outside, there’s no need to travel to the islands — the island will travel to you. Join us!

Join us Feb. 20 for special ‘Tropical Sunday’ worship

Grace Lutheran Church West Springfield will hold its annual “Tropical Sunday” worship service this Sunday, Feb. 20, 2011, in the church sanctuary. Wish you could escape the cold and snow with a vacation to the tropics? Grace will bring the tropics to you! Wear your most colorful cruise garments, we’ll send up the heat, decorate the sanctuary and the Back Row Band will offer up a pleasing selection of Latin rhythms. Anyone who wishes is encouraged to bring something delicious made from tropical ingredients for the coffee hour following worship.

Join us for Tropical Sunday this Sunday!

Tired of winter? Looking for a Sunday worship service that warms the body and the spirit? All are invited to attend Grace Lutheran Church West Springfield Sunday, Feb. 7, 2010 at 9:30 a.m. for Tropical Sunday!

An annual tradition, the church sanctuary will be decorated with tropical plants and flowers, parishioners are encouraged to wear tropical “cruisewear” plus the music will have a Latin beat.  Coffee hour will feature baked goods with pineapple, coconut and other tropical flavors.

Additinally, the confirmation students will perform a skit. All are asked to participate by bringing a $1 bill and 1-2 canned goods.

Join us for Tropical Sunday: Feb. 8, 2009, at Grace Lutheran Church West Springfield

Those who cannot afford the time or money to fly to the islands and escape the cold of winter are cordially invited to come to Grace Lutheran Church West Springfield this Sunday, Feb. 8, 2009 at 9:30 a.m. for the annual Tropical Sunday worship celebration.

The temperature will be up in the flower-bedecked sanctuary as we celebrate the Lord with a grand selection of Latino and African hymns, followed by a coffee hour with fair-traded coffee and home-baked goods containing tropical fruits and ingredients.

The Back Row Band will bring out the bongos and cruise-wear attire is encouraged for everyone attending. Anyone wishing to contribute to the coffee hour is invited to bake with pineapple, coconut, bananas or any other tropical ingredient.

Lenten Bible Study – March 1st, 15th and 29th, immediately after worship; These one-hour sesions will focus on the Book of Faith Initiative and cover basic topics.
